Mad World
First off, an update. My dad is recovering at a fantastic rate. Each day that passes, a little bit more of his mind comes back. So much so that he pretty much hates everyone else in the ward and realises that Sunderland's win at weekend was only their second of the season. (He was born in Sunderland BTW). The physical effects won't be so easily remedied, but the physio should help in that department.Secondly, can I just thank all of you who commented or blogged and sent your best wishes. I "know" none of you from Adam really, but this virtual world full of virtual friends has certainly warmed my heart and helped me get through some difficult days. Once again - thanks.
Finally, thank God for the carthartic presence of the web in general and the blog in particular.

I am so pleased. "Mumsy" had a stroke a few years ago, it seemed really quite bad at the time, but she's recovered really well, a bit weaker on the left side, and eyesight not too good, but the worst thing is sh'e lost her sense of smell. I hope your dad continues his progress to health quickly.

Glad to hear that your Dad hates everyone else in his ward, my mum-in-law reacted in exactly the same way when recovering from her stroke and the doctors found it a very positive sign! She's doing fine now so things look promising for your Dad!
