There But For Fortune
Woke up this morning to the awful news of the accident on the M56 near Manchester Airport. It really hits home this as its a part of the motorway we use frequently. All foreign holidays start with a taxi ride from home to one pf the terminals at the airport.
This morning that minibusfull of excited holiday-makers was replete with happiness. The next.........
Predictably the whole motorway network became quickly gridlocked. The M56, M60, M6, M62, M61 all suffering absolute standstill. Many of the roads surrounding the motorways too became unpassable. People were late for work, meetings, planes, trains and ferries. These were subdued tailbacks though. None of the usual road rage.
Its a sobering business sudden death. Makes you count your blessings.
