Lay Back and Dream on a Rainy Day.............
A bit back, one rainy Friday afternoon I was listening to Electric Ladyland and, in particular one of my favourite tracks "Rainy Day Dream Away". It always annoyed me that Mr Hendrix had obviously split up one long track to make "Rainy Day..." and "Still Raining Still Dreaming". "Hang on" I thought ! "Bugger me, I can use my PC and Sonic Foundry's Soundforge software in particular to knit back together what the cool-as-fuck genius had originally undone."
A couple of hours later I had the finished ditty blasting through my headphones. After hearing this version (the "Occupied Country Remix" I think we'll call it) I can't for the life of me understand why he splt the track up in the first place. Rent asunder we have two album fillers. Great album fillers.....but album fillers nonetheless. If he'd have left them together the track would be revealed in all its 7 mins plus splendour. If anyone wants a MP3 of the opus say so in the comments and I'll stick a link up.
This is completely and utterly pointless. Who the hell is going to watch it on TV ? Surely even the Big Brother addictees will give it a wide berth ?
There really has got to be something fundamentally lacking in this bloke's emotional and intellectual makeup though.....hasn't there ? Why the hell would you want to subject yourself to public deprivation on this scale unless there was something ultimately off-kilter deep within ?
